Blotto Photto Art Show - Portland
Question:
Why would someone miss opening day at Stowe (an epic powder day no less) to fly all the way across the country to eternally rain-soaked Portland?
Answer:
VIP tickets & backstage passes to see The Shins in their hometown? Nahhh...
To hang with Pinski & the Grenerds at “The Office”? Nope
To skate Burnside with Chet Childress? I wish.
To cop as many pairs of Nike SBs as cheap as possible from their factory
outlets? Not even
BLOTTO PHOTTO, folks.
Friday November 16th, 2007 was the one-night-only installation of BLOTTO PHOTTO hosted by the fine crew at Exit Real World in Tigard, Oregon. The Pacific Northwest’s premier shop teamed up with the Green Mountain West crew led by the one and only Sasha Dietschi-Cooper to make room for Blotto’s latest installment of larger than life prints of Burton riders doing what they do
best…destroying any and an all terrains. Gigi’s styled out method off a
cornice in NZ, Jussi boosting up and over frozen evergreens in BC, Keegan
slaying rails in Denver, Jeremy gapping insanely large rocks in Hood, Yale
fronstide wallriding in VT, all these and many more were on display and for
sale at Exit’s Tigard location. Those fortunate enough to attend were given
not only the chance to purchase one of the snowboard world’s most
sought-after photog’s prints in a silent auction format, but to meet and
give a pound to Blotto, as well as special guest and newly adopted Portland
resident Jeff Curtes, whom also featured select prints.
Hors d’oeuvres & cocktails were served to those in attendance as they waged
war to see who would come out victorious in the bidding battles. As the
evening drew to a close, combatants were all smiles as they made their way
off the battlefield with a piece of snowboarding history signed in person by
the ultimate sniper behind a lens.
Posters & custom tees were available to mark the occasion as well as to
raise funds for local charities.
Big ups to the entire crew at Exit Real World and to the GMW crew for
graciously hosting the largest display of snowboarding photography we’ve
ever seen.
Extra big ups to Blotto for firing off more killer shots than a Kalashnikov
in a heated gun battle…and for printing them so damn big that our faces
melted in awe.
