Blotto Goretex Shoot, Day 2
Jeremy, Jussi, Natasza and Terje rolled into Maryland for the Goretex shoot and immediately got down to business as their flight out was the same day as arrival.
We started the show in the Rain Room, spending three hours dousing them with simulated rainfall and wind. The Rain Room is technically cool as you can control intensity and direction of the rain and see exactly how the outerwear materials are holding up. After a quick lunch break it was off to the Comfort Chamber for the next round of photos.
The Comfort Chamber is basically a fancy oversized freezer where all winter temps can be simulated to a tee. For our photos, the temperature was dropped to a balmy five-degrees and the humidity cranked way up. Two treadmills are placed inside to get the riders moving (and sweating) to measure how well any given material is moisture wicking.
When it was all said and done, we spent six hours at the Goretex facilities, shot six hundred photos and traded a lot of good stories and laughs. Big up to Danielle, Todd, Brad, Louise and the Burton Team for making this quick shoot a fun one.
