Around the Way...OSLO
Sleeping in the morning after our radical team dinner, we had to get out to enjoy what was shaping up to be a really nice day…springtime at its finest, city style.
Mads and I caught the train over to Session Skate Shop to set up a couple of new decks. I didn’t have my skate with me in Norway, so the Sessions crew was more than happy in helping us find suitable cruiser boards (and I scored their last pair of Indys…whewww, that was close!).
After finding a Tom Penny 8-inch, Mads happened upon Lizard King’s Passion Low Life board! We’ve all been seeing these boards around, but usually their displayed on your boy’s wall as a collector piece. Mads asked if he should skate this board and all I had to say was “FOR SURE, do it!”
Back on the streets with new bushings under our feet, we cruised the city for a while before finding out way to Mikkel’s spot. He and Jack were hanging out on I-Chat going over some new riffs with Jack’s brother Luke. The Mitrani bros are working on an acoustic set for their upcoming Frends Gathering in Mammoth on June 4th. It’s amazing to see how fast the new generation is learning the six-string…wow.
Back to the streets with our numbers doubled we scored on a sweet downhill route Mikkel knew about, ultimately ending up back at Mads. Another chill session before Mads and I met up with the Hansen Family for some catch up and dinner activities.
I’m outta Oslo tomorrow, destination AZ. Peace, Blotto
