Around the Way...lately

Good time to be around Burlington lately...weather has taken full stride in its 50/50 ways (sun rain sun rain)...Jazz Fest is popping, with music blazing all afternoon and evenings downtown...strolling along Church Street you're bound to run into one heck of a performance.
The bicycles are out and rolling...mandatory stop at Old Spokes to talk tech about switching over from the traditional (rear) track hub to something a bit more burly. Everyday commuter style use of a fixed gear drive train doesn't treat the fragile Dura Ace 7600's very well; it burns out the bearings quicklike. Moving over to a Phil Wood high flange in hopes it can withstand the constant start-stop-braking aspects without having to rebuild every six months.
This time of year the crew at Burton is wrapping up the newest consumer catalog (2011 Edition available August). Evan and Pfluger ran me through every single page yesterday, breaking it down section by section. As a contributor to his massive project, it's a joy to see how and where those hard earned winter images find a home.
For those of you waiting on sticker packs, I did a big mailing this week; you'll start seeing the envelopes arriving early next week. For the next couple of days it's back to the Celtics-Lakers finals, photo editing, jazz fest and whatever else we find around the way. Peace, Blotto
