Go Skate Day

So the official Go Skateboarding Day is June 21st, but Burlington's 2010 Go Skate Day was the 20th (kinda of like they do 4th of July fireworks on July 3rd). Either way, everybody was out for Vermont's first official Game of Skate, supported by the city.

The event was centered around raising awareness for the Moran Plant Project (on the waterfront that includes a cement park), a kick start to fund raising and they announced Grind Line would be the park builder. The entire waterfront project should be completed within a year's time. Skaters came out in full force to sign up for the bracketed game of Skate, with Kyle Burroughs coming out on top and snatching some sweet prizes.

After the festivities the weather was too nice not to assemble a posse, grab the cruiser boards and make our way all over the city till sunset. Burlington is a great place to swap out your street wheels in favor of some softies and head top to bottom express train style. Summer is in full swing. Blotto
