Tour Life: Matsuyama

 

For some reason I was thinking about promotional tours of the past and wanted to dig through some flicks to conjure up memories and share a few moments with y'all. This group of photos is from Matsuyama, Japan in November of 2007. 

 

I've been to Matsuyama on more than one occasion, and the highlight of the visit is definitely the indoor snowboarding arena. You can ride everyday of the year, no matter what season it is outside because it's always meat locker cold inside...brrrr!

 

Since the Burton promo tour was coming through, they did a quick revamp of the terrain park and had a nicely shaped 12-foot (3.66 meters) half pipe, a few boxes and a decent kicker. Since the features were relatively small, a lot of one-foot airs, doubles and backflips were going down at a rapid pace. In between runs the kids were seeking out autographs as the guys made their way back up the slope. Borderline mayhem.

 

Once the 45-minute demo was complete, Trevor took to the stage to rock the house with an unplanned music set appreciated by all. Another autograph session, then it was back to the bus to make our way to Tokyo for another tour stop. Blotto
