MONTANA

I've been in wonderful state of Montana the past few days spending time with the fam. During this past weekend, my brother-in-law Brian took part in the Montana Linemen's Rodeo, so we drove west to Great Falls to show our support.
What's a Lineman's Rodeo you ask...well, you know those power lines that bring electricity into your home and business? These are the guys that keep those power lines running every day of the year and work triple overtime when Mother Nature brings them down.
To celebrate their skill and devotion to their art, teams from all over the west coast get together every few weeks to battle each other in a number of different events...hurt man rescue, speed climb and insulator replacement...to name a few.
The daylong event features music, food, friendly competition and an overall family feel for all those in attendance. This is my second rodeo I've been to with Brian and it's amazing how fast and precise these linemen are climbing these 40-foot (12.1 meters) power poles. Brian is off to Portland next week with his teamates to battle it out again and we wish them the best of luck! Blotto
