Saas check-in No. 1

 

For today’s post I bring you the view from the Drehrestaurant-Allalin (Restaurant Allanlin) at the top station on Saas Fee. These nine images represent the view every 6.5 minutes as the dining area makes its way around in a complete circle (about an hour for a complete rotation). It’s one of those revolving restaurant designs you see every now and then…definitely cool considering you’re on top of the Swiss Alps!

 

Our crew took a break from shooting catalog photos for a spaghetti-pomodoro meal before getting back to it. I don’t have much else in the way of blog photos from day No. 1, we were trying to get through a big chunk of the shot list while the weather was sunny and semi-warm…not much time to pull out the point and shoot.

 

Seeing how crazy cool the lift stations, trams, gondolas and trains are on Saas Fee Mountain, I’ll definitely be posting some photos as we make our way up to the hill. Stay tuned…Cheers, Blotto

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drehrestaurant-Allalin sits at 3,500 meters (11,482 feet) above sea level and is open every day the Saas Fee lifts are running. All photos by Blotto 2010
