SLUSH: How high can you ollie?

Day two brought more entertainment for the masses in the form of riding, hanging and chilling, but there was also the 'activity list' to take part in voluntarily. Since the previous day's fresh snow was tracked out (and it rained to the top of the mountain that evening), why not posse up, grab a manifest and see what you could scavenger up around the grand resort of Jackson Hole.
Part of the checklist was cleverly worded that you had to solve a few riddles (or know the local nicknames) in order to go and take a photo of the find. For example was 'the first line of defense' (the avalanche gun), 'climb the Space Needle' (locate the on-mountain cell tower) and 'snuggle with a hairy beast' (The Stash monster). Other challenges included finding a 20-year season pass holder, follow-cam your crew through the banked slalom and kick it on someone's porch. Not a bad way to spend the day while the snow went from hero to zero.
Once the hunt was over, it was time to see 'who's got pop' in the form of the highest ollie contest. This activity is always a crowd favorite, whether you're rolling on four wheels or strapped in because the peanut gallery is literally inches away from the action. Not only do you see some extraordinarily high ollies, but you always witness some tough crashes as well.
Once the daylight hours were extinguished, all got ready for the art and photo show at Rare in downtown Jackson. This beautiful gallery was playing host to collection of pieces centered around snowboard art and history and some of the artists and riders involved throughout these years. Many of the original paintings and drawings were on display next to where they found a home on that particular snowboard. Also, the JLA I AM SNOWBOARDING show shipped out a few Jeffy pieces to compliment an already amazing show.
BIG UP to the entire crew who spent countless hours getting the 2011 version of Slush planned and executed...it was something else! Blotto
