Team Bowling Night

Day one ‘on-hill’ brought us a mixture of warm temps, cloudy skies and lots of big snowboarding moves thrown down…not a bad way to start this April of 2011 park shoot. The very next morning a sizable spring storm rolled through Idaho, which put visibility at zero meaning we’d be unable to access the mini-resort that houses our grande jump line.

After a relaxing day (more like recovering from day one) we headed out for team bowling night. Funny enough, our hotel has a ‘basement jam’ set up that features four lanes of bowling, a pool table, video games and pizza. Now this is a place you can hang out any evening!

The games and scores were pretty unofficial, but laughter was always present watching the questionable techniques of our crew chucking a mixture of urethane, plastic and reactive resin shaped as a ball at a 10-pin formation. But then things got serious…

Ten dudes would now be taking part in a ‘one-frame twenty dollar buy-in’ best score wins comp. That means 200 rocks were on the line for any one of these players…the first eight contestants didn’t do so well…then competitor number nine going by the name of Sani Alibabic stepped up and struck those pins down! Strike! Sani was feeling pretty good and he could smell that pile of cash…until Kazu stepped up and matched Sani with a strike! Now it was Sani VS Kazu one-frame playoff…

…and Kazu is now picking up a 20-dollar bill from each of his bros…Blotto
