Land Transformation X Human

Sitting at 32,000 feet (9753 meters) above sea level gives you one heck of a perspective of what’s happening down below. On a recent flight from Chicago to San Francisco, my window shade popped open as the pilot started the gradual decent over the Lake Tahoe region on our way to landing at SFO.

 

This chronological series of photos details how the Earth changes from the mountain elevations down to sea level, mixed in with the human effect of populating and industrializing low-lying areas in between. It’s quite fascinating to witness how these two worlds meld together, for right or wrong. Blotto
