Brooklyn Roll Part 2

After filling up at Christie's Jamaican Patties, we exchanged Chenoah for Timbo and continued on the pedal...this time we had an exact destination in mind: Coney Island.
Craig and Tim visit often (but not lately), I had never been, so we had to do this. Heading to Coney Island I really had no idea what to expect, except this vision of an old school amusement park sitting along a barren ocean. Upon arrival I was excited to see the place was in working order, serving food, rides open and few people scattered along the boardwalk. Since it was the third weekend in October, daily numbers have gone way down as winter approaches. Craig and Tim hit me with all the facts and figures when Coney Island is jam-packed mid-summer and going off. I could only imagine the madness!
After a few flicks at Coney, we continued on towards the Verrazano Bridge via the bike path, headed directly into 30-mph (48 km) head winds. Mother Nature couldn't stop our mission to see a whole lot of Brooklyn in one afternoon. Turning the corner headed north, we caught the wind to our backs and the pedals once again started turning at a rapid pace and we quickly found ourselves in the Red Hook District. A short break consisting of snacks, some beverages and a sunset over the Statue of Liberty had us feeling good about making the mission around Brooklyn.
Red Hook wrapped up under nighttime skies, so it was back on the saddle to finish this epic ride. We approached Dumbo and a magnificent view of New York City in all of its nighttime glory, along with thousands of people enjoying this same view and unreal October weather. Blotto
