BMX Racing Part One

For the past few summers I've been attending BMX races with GT Bicycles to document their professional and amateur teams. In addition to photographing the riders, it's always been a point to capture the entire scene that is BMX racing. Growing up in Arizona this is what my family and I did two to three times a week...head out to the local track on a Wednesday evening or a Saturday afternoon and try to bring home a victory.
A few things have changed since my years of whipping around the track on a 20-inch bicycle (clipless pedals and super technical track designs being the top of the list)...what remains the same is BMX racing is still a family affair. Age has no limitation, whether you're five or fifty years old, there's a racing class you can sign up for and give it your best. It's good to see the ABA and NBL (which is now USABMX) are still making it a point to keep it open (and inviting) for everybody interested. Blotto
