Goretex visit with Burton

On Friday of last week I met up with Kimmy Fasani, John Jackson and the Burton Crew for a tour through the Goretex Facility on the East Coast. Goretex and Burton have a long standing relationship in producing some of the best outerwear on the planet: The AK Line. The Goretex material is meant to keep you dry and protected when experiencing whatever Mother Nature can throw at you, so our tour was for gaining an understanding on how the material works.
There's a number of buildings and facilities housing the different stages of material production, so we chose to experience the 'testing grounds' in hopes of reproducing what we experience in the mountains and streets. On top of spending time in the 'Rain Room' and 'Comfort Chamber,' we checked out the Gloves Prototype Lab and the PTFE Explanation Tour (which is the Goretex material).
There was a ton of information to take in and lots of examples of other places the Goretex material is used in (NASA spacesuits, Fireman Protection, Guitar strings, etc, etc). All in all a great tour with a very knowledgable staff...and some fun photos to shoot! Thanks for taking part y'all...Blotto
