Burton High Fives, Day One

The Burton High Fives Contest has begun in Wanaka, New Zealand...with day one consisting of team selection and training for the non-snow events. Not only will the riders run through the halfpipe and slopestyle course for individual scoring, they will also compile points based on their performance at The Driving Range, Knife Throwing, Performance Car Driving and Jet Boating.

Twelve 'team captains' were previously selected and handed the complete rider list...from there they had to select two women riders, a male shredder and a junior ripper. All in all each team have five participants total with each and every rider's performance in snow and non-snow events going toward the overall score of the team.

This is sure to be a fun contest format featuring plenty of technical snowboarding combined with some hilarious moments with knives, golf clubs, boats and cars. Stay tuned...Bloto
