The idea behind Feature Bike No. 17 is to build a ‘grocery getter on the cheap.' A bicycle with rear baskets for running errands when small to medium packages need delivery or your boys need a twelve pack; without spending a grip of cash on the project.

It started with a ride to Old Spokes Home in Burlington, Vermont to visit Glen and his crew. I let them know what I was after (it didn’t need to be Italian or Keirin), just something dependable I could add my old parts to and fill in the blanks elsewhere. He ventured into the attic and returned ten minutes later with this beauty.

After scoring this marvelous Windsor steel lugged frame and fork, I’m now on the mission to gather up my old parts, retrofit where needed and keep searching for items to complete this grocery getting on the cheap. I'll check back in once she's road ready.

Peace, blotto
