Onboard Year in the Life Intro

There can be little argument that Dean Blotto Gray is one of the most productive photographers in the game. In the 9 years he has been working with Burton, he’s had a number of job titles – from Road Manager to Photo Editor to Women’s Global Team Manager to Analog Marketing Director – but it’s his current position of Principal Photographer, which he’s held since 2003, that has seen his workload and creative output skyrocket.

October 1, 2007 to September 30, 2008 saw Blotto spend a staggering 261 days on the road, changing time zones on average 4 times a month, following and documenting the legions of Burton riders worldwide for both the Burton PR juggernaut and for submission to magazines across the globe. With such an extensive travel schedule combined with having bangers published monthly in all the world’s major titles, we thought there was no more fitting person to take a look at a Year in the Life of for our Photo Annual.
